    Dan"

The Teasel makes for an interesting perch, a bit different for a RWBB. I would prefer they not be cut off however.

Excellent exposure on the epaulet, with good detail retained. The blacks look just a bit flat, low contrast. These guys are always a challenge because of the wide dynamic range needed to handle the reds and blacks.

I wish he wasn't quite so centered, but it is a challenging image to crop because of the teasel.

    Cheers

It looks like you had great light, Dan. Love the perch. The blacks look well exposed. I wish we could see the eyes a bit better.

Interesting perch for sure. Maybe a square crop would work better here. Indeed a little flat...maybe due to harsh light. TFS.

Hi Dan, good eye contact, and I like the semi spread wing pose. Although there is detail in the blacks, I feel you could revisit them. Comp wise, I would move him back to the left a bit more.

Hello Dan. Very nice shot. I really like the pose and the perch. Agree about the blacks looking flat, but its still a great shot.
    Well done.

Nice perch, pose, colours, sky BG. The blacks look like they've been lightened in post and we can see along the edges of the subject where you didn't pass (especially near the end of the tail and far wingtip). Not sure which technique you used but I am sure a rework on the blacks would make it shine.

Really cool perch for this red winged black bird! Seeing more of the teasel in this case
would enhance the image. I also enjoy the birds pose and brilliant colors on the epaulet.
Daniel's keen eye is spot on regarding the processingof the blacks on the bird. Also,
the eye is showing as good as it's going to, as the bird's nictating membrane is clearly
    covering the eye.
