    Default Little Stint

    Hi All,

Here's one I took last year. A Little Stint. I can't make my mind up whether I like it or not, WDYT?

    Canon 7D and Canon 500mm F4 IS + 1.4 - 1/1250s ISO 400 F7.1

    Best regards,

    Carl.

    Carl:

I do like him. I might pull up the middle of the curve just a bit to help the bird pop out a bit more from the background. I looked at it with a dark BG surround, it it really popped nicely, but with my usual light grey BG, the bird seemed a bit too flat.

There are a couple of faint gray smudges in the RU background that I might stamp out.

Nice shooting angle, head angle too.

    Cheers

Nice bird and nice low angle shot. Agree with Randy's suggestions about making the bird pop a bit. Fill flash might have helped in this light situation. Well done.

Really like the all-around clean look. The yellow in the feathers really pops as well.

Hi Carl, the colours on the Stint do stand out against the high key BG, and I like the hint of ripples around the legs. Great low perspective too.

He looks good...nice study in juvenile plumage. I like the head turned a bit our way. Great low angle too. I agree in raising the midtones, or the overall exposure a tad in post and lighten the reflection in the eye to give it more life.
