    Default Grizzly vs Alien

    Attached Images Attached Images

Shot from a zodiac during Chas Glatzer's BC Bear workshop to one of the wildest, most remote places I've visited.
While black bears seemed to prefer fresh fish, grizzlies had no qualms about scavenging; some of the salmon carcasses looked almost alien-like. I wish that rocky BG wasn't so busy.

The Canon 1DX showed impressive performance, especially at the high ISO values almost constantly required to keep up shutter speeds.

    Canon 1DX, 500mm f/4L IS II, 1/400 @ f/4, ISO 1000.

Very sharp and a very nice close up.
It is a bit tight for me, more room above would look nice I think.
I don't mind the Rock Bg.

Hi Ignacio, nice low angle, although I might agree with Dan, just a wee bit tight, but all personal taste. Nothing you can do about the BKG, that's their habitat so I really don't think it's an issue. They are awesome characters and I am sure you had some great memories.

BTW just check the Colour Profile when you post for web to ensure you get the best from your image.

Lovely detail and the fish certainly does look alien. Like the reflections in the water and the droplets.

Nice low pov and sharpness. I don't mind the rock bg either. That carcass does look like an alien. I agree with Dan that a little more room above would take this up a notch.

Cracking IQ and low angle here, Ignacio!
The 1Dx seems to deliver in low light, something that Canon has been lacking.
I too don't mind the background. A little more room on top would've been nice to have, but it's certainly no deal-breaker.

Thank you all; interesting feedback, I actually cropped from the top trying to draw more attention to the bear's face and the carcass. Will keep it in mind.
