Default Common Tern after bath, #2.

This is a different tern from one I posed awhile back - this one a first-year Common Tern, I believe. From Sandy Hook in late August. In addition to the splash, I liked the rippled edges to the near-wing primaries on this one. Needed to do a little rotation, added a bit of canvas and slight wing-tip repair, removed oof tern head behind.

    D7000, 500f4, ISO 800, 1/1600s @ f/6.3 manual, lowered gitzo and mongoose. 75% of full width.

Great take off shot, Bill. Excellent timing and graet upwing position. Love the dripping water and the spash.

Great take off shot and comp. The water drops adds to the IMG. Sharpness and exposure spot on.

Great capture! I agree with everyone above. Plus perfect bkgd with just enough detail for the setting & great highlight in the eye.

Excellent splash and wing position. I wouldn't mind a little more room below.

Great shot. I really like the dangling feet, great wing position, exposed very well, and excellent details.
    Well done.
