    Default Pumpkin Abstract

Another one from the Pumpkin Patch last Saturday...24-105mm lens@90mm, f/11@1/100. RAW image processed in LR; NIK Detail Extractor and Tonal Contrast on low opacity layers; Topaz->Simplify->Oil Painting IV. Going to play with a version in Fractalius on this one later...I think it lends itself to that particular filter...we'll see!

John...lots of detail captured here...nice graphic quality. You might consider evicting the pieces of ? above the main stem.

I like this abstract of a pumpkin. It is abstract, but still clearly a pumpkin. My favorite aspect are the curving lines and sensual shapes. Unsure about the browns near the stem--seems to detract from the beauty of the rest. I like that you tried something different with a pumpkin.

Anita posted exactly what I was thinking. The lighting and shades of orange are gorgeous. Great composition with the stem near the top and all the deep lines gracefully & sensually curving away. In fact, I may never look at a pumpkin the same again .

Thank you for the views and comments...did a bit of clean-up per suggestions, and added a little detail "pop"...let's see how it goes...

John, I looked at this one all day and couldn't decide if I liked the cuts and stuff, turns out I do. They reminded me of the curly stem pieces.

Just wanted to let you know how much I like this. The oil painting filter in Simplify did a very nice job of enhancing the texture of the pumpkin and the Nik software did a wonderful job on the detail. You did a very nice job of processing this image and both versions looked good. Thanks for sharing.

John, I like the cleaned up version better. I love the perspective and curves
