You have a good image of the sparrowhawk there Ivan, as usual this one perched in the most inconvenient place, I too have one in my garden who always perches in the least advantageous spot. Possibly the bird would benefit from a little more sharpening - could be the NR has softened it a little bit?

Thanks Jon, will have a go later this evening.

Hi Ivan, what a great subject visiting your garden. I like the orange eye and yellow feet, and moving to your left may have given you a better perspective.

Thanks Stuart, had noticed the thick OOF branch in the viewfinder amd would have liked to move left a little but I was restricted in that I was shooting this out of my daughters bedroom window and had no where to go.

Had it not been for the OOF tree and it's two horizontal branches this would have been a heck of an image! The rest of the "clutter" I am OK with...gives it a forest feel. I like the colours, overcast light. I'd darken the brighter leaf touching the tail. Awesome to see this in your backyard...I know I get excited when a raptor visits my yard! Doesn't happen often though, good thing for the smaller birds...

Great bird to have it in your garden. I also think that the bird could benefit from more sharpening.
