Captured this image in the Atchafalaya NWR. I was able to get him to the edge of the woods by using an iPod. There were plenty of birds singing, so I was a little surprised he responded. This is one of only 4 keeper images I was able to get. They are quick for low light conditions.

Gus, thanks for viewing and commenting. I have a problem with over saturating yellows and reds. I desaturated the yellows, but looks like it's not enough. Is there a quantitative way of determining over saturation? I desaturated the yellows until I thought all detail was available, but it looked pretty dull so I added some back. Any help in this area is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Tim

A very fine image of this species. Those yellows are tough....especially with such a dark BG. These dont look too bad to me but may still be a bit hot.

nice BG & a pretty bird. agree that the saturation has washed off some details in the head...

Thanks guys. I'm going to try my hand at saturation masks to see if I can improve on my color saturations. This is not the first image where it was a problem.

Thanks Al. I've made some adjustments using saturation masks and like the image more. The yellows on the head are more saturated then the rest and doing a global hue/saturation adjustment got me. Applying the hue/saturation adjustment with a saturation masks seemed to have remedied the situation.
