From a high point i was able to get a overview over the hole area where the herons made there nests.

I am not sure how your post processing worked with this, but I love the dreamy feel to the image. It is surreal almost. The head angle is not quite ideal, but the action would have been fast. About one third of the way up on the left-hand-side there are three small intrusive bits of vegetation? I do love the image!

Alexander, Love the image and composition. I like the background earth tones and the details on your bird...:)

The colors are nice, but a moment or two earlier to catch the bird approaching rather than leaving would have been an improvement.

Love the Herons body position, the head up pose is great, I even like the look of the feet.

I would love to see the image liightened up a little.

Agree with Jim on the angle of the bird.

The problem with this one Jim was the fact that i approached over my head and then turn left and the moment I spotted hem was just when he made his turne:o;)

This is so spectacular and sharp that I am fine with the bird flying ever-so-slightly away. Had the bird been flying parallel to you the dorsal view would not have been so wonderful (or angled at all). A truly wonderful image for me. And maybe a tad lighter...
