    Default Ringed Turtle-dove

    Osceola County, FL - 1D3, 600mm+2x TC, hand held, 1/2000, F8, ISO 800, manual exposure - focal length - 1200mm, effective focal length - 1560mm

This Ringed Turtle-dove dive bombed a perched Red-shouldered Hawk. I was hoping to get them both in the image, but the Dove didn't come close enough to the Hawk to fit both in the frame, and he only made one run at the Hawk. I was very pleased with the performance of the new 600mm + 2X extender. It is slightly sharper than the 2X was on my old 500mm. The image was made earlier this morning.

Beautiful angle towards you and just love that those pinkish tones, the hint of clouds in the background, and the fanned tail. That's a stunner, Jim. I guess the only thing I would say could be better would be more light on the far wing. But I would be more than thrilled with this. Esp considering you took it handheld with the 2x! looks like you as well as Arash are doing superb things with the new 600mm.

Hi Jim, good eye contact, and you have captured a great inflight pose with the wingspread and just love thae fanned tail. Nice to see the feet tucked in, and agree, the hint of cloud adds interest.

I like this image and am sure you are having a blast with the new 600mm. I like the IQ and how sharp it is with the 2x. Wish for a bit more light on the birds left wing,
    Gail

Killer flight shot as always Jim. I think the darker under tail coverts make this a Eurasian Collared Dove.

Extra nice in flight shot, lovely wing form....all that's missing is the Olive Branch in the beak, very nice and well done.
