    Default Grand Central Terminal

I captured the original 3 image HDR at GCT in NY on my past workshop that I co-led with BPN member Scott Vincent. I converted it to B&W and added the light feature from Knoll Lighting Factory (thanks to Dennis), there was a light already there the filter added the rays. I also used Snap Art's Oil Pint filter. The biggest problem for me was the crop. I didn't want to lose the "T" in rest but the corner was sloppy. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

The small cirle of light and the rays make a great focal point that take your eye up to the interesting curves & lines of the ceiling. I do think that the double octagon shape on the door is too bright and draws my eye away from the continuing curves of the sign. Not having the "T" is no problem. The words "oyster bar" convey all that is needed. The subtle shades of the B&W give it a glowing feel that goes perfectly with the subtle light rays.

Maybe we could have "T" some other time The B&W on this is exquisite. I really love that light effect and will need to check that out. We'll be in NYC in a few weeks.

Ditto everything Nancy said. (And I wish I'd have thought of Dave's T comment.) Nice work with the light rays. I really like the feel of the whole image, but the left side, especially.

Dave, if you check out Knoll Light Factory (Red Giant Software), be sure to look at the one they have for Photoshop, not the one that's designed for video.

Tough call on how to crop this one, Denise. I like what you did, but could also see a version with it cropped on the right to eliminate the RES and a corresponding slight crop from the top.

    Lovely soft B&W treatment.

    Thanks all for the feedback.
Thanks Maureen, I actually did crop it with the res out but it looked odd to my eye so I settled on this one. I think if I go for a re-shoot I will explore the scene a little more.

Denise, I really like the b&w treatment. The only thing that bothers me is the dark spot (maybe the ceiling light mount) under the "s". I think it could be lighter like the other one.
