From Nickerson, the one evening I spent there this summer. Would have liked just a bit more of a head turn here but I still liked the banking pose. This was near sunset and light was getting soft and pinkish.
    Crop, sharpening, whites recovery.
Thanks in advance for any comments and critiques. Thanks for looking.

Wow What soft light, lovely freeze and a fantastic exposure on the bird. I also liked the catch light in the birds eye.

Hi Melissa, great angle showing off the wingspread, and well exposed in the soft light. The eye pops very well from the dark cap, and if anything, I would maybe move the skimmer back to the left a touch.

Wonderful flight shot. I really like the flight pose, lovely warm soft light, excellent feather detail, and exposed perfectly.
    Well done.

Excellent capture -- good detail even in the bill.
Wish we had these in Oregon -- we have to go south to Southern California to see them.

This is just sweet. It all started with the light quality, which is excellent, but the flight pose and solid techs
make for a great image. Sharp details too....

All loverly. The bird's head is actually square to the imaging sensor--that works well here with the bird angling slightly away. Five seconds APTATS II fix to move the bird back in the frame; took me longer to move the signature :).

Lovely capture, Melissa, and I like Artie's comp repost. The light and details under the wings are great and you have a nice catchlight.
