    Default Black-bellied Plover in flight

I wasn't quite ready for him when he took off - a slightly faster SS would have been better if I had been thinking of flight; and he was further away than I would have liked. The large crop (this is 50% of full width) didn't do me any favors in the IQ department. But I've been wanting to get one of these guys in flight, so I'll post this and keep trying. I believe this is a juvenile, but it's hard to be sure from this image.

I love the light & the water droplets. Agree with you that SS should have been a bit faster but its a nice try. Looking forward to your future shots in this series.

Not shabby even if less than razor. Love the raised wings and the droplets. With the finely patterned head and the checkerboard pattern visible on the leading edge of the far wing this is a juvie.

It's a well composed image. The wing positioning is very good, and I like that the black wing pit shows well.
I think your self critique is also very good.

Wings fully raised, water drops flying, and part of the water trail in LRC all make this a nice image. Yes, a bit more sharpness to the face would have been good.

Thank you all. I'll post a sequel momentarily, taken a split second later.
