    Default Yellow Warbler in Fennel

I caught this little guy the other day feeding in some fennel. Had to wait quite a while, but he eventually popped out into the open, to my great pleasure. Background is distant dry grass.

nice pose and a good BG, I like the perch but would go for a looser crop as the flowers are almost clipped at the edges. A 3:2 with more room would work nicely here

I like this a lot. The look back pose & the framing by the flowers make for a lovely image. I do agree with Arash re. the crop.

Great light quality and sweet perch. The background control is so good that it "feels" like a set up,
even though it was not. I agree that since you are virtually touching the perch on both sides, a more
intentional crop from the sides and cropping a bit off the bottom are worthwhile considerations. The IQ
looks great and would seem able to hold up to any cropping. By having the perch(s) joined at the
bottom, was that more of a complete thought for you? It's still very lovely as is, and I think there is
value in showing a small bird as small in the frame, especially when done so well.

Beautiful image Steve. I like the pose, complimentary BG and flowers. I agree with Arash on his crop suggestion.

Here when a bird small in the frame works very well, and it would work just as well with added canvas as per suggestions. The colours look great, as does sharpness, and pose.

Lovely capture and agree this would be even better with the bird smaller in the frame.

No one has mentioned the little bug on top of the left flower! I really like this extra visual detail.

Thanks all for the kind feedback and useful suggestions. Consensus seems to be to go with a looser crop, and I agree that that would improve the image. Unfortunately, there's no room at the top, bottom or right side. (I cropped in a bit from the left for balance.) So, will have to consider adding canvas, which will be a bit of a stretch for my limited Photoshop skills. Thanks again.
