5d3 at 700mm, F/7.1, ISO 800, 1/200sec, handheld. I wish it was sharper with a better BG but this is the first image of mine with this unique pose.

That is indeed a unique pose. Quite a compelling image, and not an easy one to obtain, I imagine, with that competing background. As for improvement, your self-critique was on target. Seems to be a bet of blown highlight on the head as well.

pose is very dynamic and great but it's a shame IQ is just not there, bird is quite soft and whites are blown. Hope you can nail this the next time

Awesome flight pose and yeah, not easy to capture!
Presenting it in a smaller file size is a reasonable solution for web viewing (as you've done in the repost),
and it does look better. But, the IQ issues that Arash pointed out are still there....

Killer pose but to my eyes the head is not sharp.

What a unique pose! Excellent wing position. I'm not sure, But would suggest to place the raptor higher in the frame if the BG let do this.

It's a tough capture for sure. I think you nailed it in your self critique. The bg isn't the best, but remember that the moment sure is!
