    Default Modest owl?

I got this frame when I came across a handsome burrowing owl a while ago. I have many frames with eyes wide open but I thought this one was interesting too because you can see the eyelashes and the closed eyes give him a modest character. Interested to know what you think

I posted picture of a Barred Owl like this before , with the eyes closed. Most people did not like it. I do like it very much.

    Arash:

I think it is pretty cute. Nice light and details. I do think an image like this one usually works best when shown in a group with the more conventional eyes open pose, esp. with owls where the eyes are so important of an element.

    Cheers

Wonderful shot. Love the warm light, excellent details, and great comp. Me personally I really like it. It shows calmness of the owl. Not affected by your presence.
    Very well done.

    Hi Arash,
I love the light and am OK with the eyes closed. I love the eyelashes as well. The head is turned in a coquetish (is that even a word?) way.
Good vertical comp but wish for a bit more room below for the feet.

I like the eyes closed pose. A nice change from the typical eyes-wide-open expression we usually look for. To me it gives the impression of calmness. The white balance is a bit warm for my taste.

The HD version is awesome, as always! I love the super fine details of the eyelashes and just a tiny sliver of the yellow eye showing. Indeed, coy . In a totally perfect world it would have been nice if the owl was standing on a bit of a mound so one could see the feet.

The light quality is excellent...no suprise there.
The eyes closed coupled with the slight cock of the head works very well from a "personality" viewpoint...engaging.
The subject isolation/background control is not the greatest. I wonder about trying a lower shooting perspective here
to achieve a stronger foreground to background blur effect? Also, if employed, more space on the bottom of the frame
    would be nice.
