Ive mentioned before how loud and stroppy these Egyptian Geese can be, not to mention how they like to get stuck into each for their own reasons of some sort of disagreement. This was taken at the University of Pretoria early yesterday morning, and was the best out of the sequence, as both heads are visible. Most times, one of them is under water being 'drowned'. Ive actually 'softened' the splashing water, as the result was too crispy. In hindsight, I could have just sharpened the two geese, and selectively sharpened the flying water to suit.

Wow!!!! Superb action captured. Love the expression on the rear goose especially the lifted crest and open bill. Excellent job on getting both birds sharp, and very well composed.
    Very well done.

Hey Stu, compelling image. I don't know whether a lower angle would have been possible. Was the photo taken from a car? My attention is drawn to the eyes, two of which are visible, each from one goose.

Thanks Craig. I was actually standing at the waters edge. If I went lower, I would have had a distracting BG above.

    Thanks to everyone else too.

I like the action portrayed and the rolling, boiling water between the 2 geese.
I could see a tighter comp with some off the right.

Wonderful action captured Stuart! Great view of both birds' eyes. Would love to see this cropped tighter if the IQ can stand it.

Thanks a stack everyone. For Gail and Melissa who wanted to see a tighter crop - here it is. I also processed this as per my introduction. All Ive done is crop to suit, and selectively sharpen the two geese. The flying water untouched, and no NR done at all. I feel the IQ has held up well enough.

I like the repost better as it really pushes the "in your face" drama of this interaction.
Truly awesome that you got both sets of eyes open and making good contact with the
viewer. The action is super deluxe.

    Hi Stuart,
Nice job on capturing this action. I prefer the tighter look, really brings it in nicely for the viewer.
