WOW! I'll admit to being a cat person, but this is wonderful! Great sharpness on the eyes. What would you think about taking a little off the left side to get her face off center?

Hi Rachel, you certainly 'filled your boots' with this Leopard, great to see how comfortable she was around you, and obviously she likes to be in the limelight.

Taking the subject first, I think you could just bump up the RH slider in Levels, then selectively apply it, just to give a little more pop. I wouldn't add any more Curves or Contrast (especially as it's the 7D IMHO), but you can bring a little more life to the eyes either with a screen layer, or H/S. Detail is good, but I feel you could add some more selective sharpening, over the eyes and along the bridge of the nose & nose. Not knowing if this is FF, or a crop, I might be tempted to lose some off the RHS, or... dare I say the 'square' crop () and just focus purely on the face, based on the height/crop you have at present. Was this in low/poor light?

Thanks Diane and Steve for the comments and suggestions. This is full frame and one where the centered comp doesn't bother me but a square crop might work too. Sorry forgot to answer Steve's question, not particularly poor light but it was overcast and she was under the trees.

    Thanks again,
    Rachel

Rachel - my first thought here was to brigthen it a bit and to "square crop". I've been growing less and less adverse to it lately .
    Nice detail and DOF.

Nice clarity on this portrait Rachel. I like the contrast in detail of the facial fur and the body fur.

Hi Rachel, it's always an honour when a predator finds it easy to relax so you can admire it up close. I agree with other comments and suggest a touch more sharpening. Looks just a wee bit soft IMO
