    Default Piping Plover with seaweed

From Plum Island 10 days ago. I'm not sure if this is a worn juvenile or non-breeding adult; perhaps the orange base of the bill makes him an adult. I didn't try to correct the warm appearance of this, since I figure it was due to the early morning light. Rather large crop -- this is 54% of full width. C&C appreciated.

Beautiful warm colors, Bill, I'm glad you didn't cool them down. Very sharp and a nice pose. The little bit of sea weed is a nice touch, especially the bits of lavender color. I also like the strip of blue sky at the top. I also like the low angle you captured.
    Regards,
    Kevin

Hi Bill, I really like your low angle of capture, and also the angled pose from the plover. Lots of detail on the plover, sharp, and the seaweed balances the comp nicely. I do like the pastel colours of the BG.

The seaweed in front of the bird is a nice touch. Love the pose, nie HA and love the raised leg, Bill.

    Ditto what Kevin said!
Really like the pop of purple. I might reduce the brightness of BG by a little bit,

Sweet plover portrait, Bill. I really like the position of the bird angled towards you, the uplifted foot, the seaweed and its colors in front.

Love the walking pose ... the color in the seaweed and the patch of blue sky are wonderful touches!

I'm seeing a green cast ... here is a repost with 15 points of Magenta added in a Color Balance adjustment ... see what you think.

Great perspective. Just enough to give us a great background, and still high enough to show the feet. Nice detail throughout too.

Thank you Mike. I was concerned about the red vs. blue, and missed the green. The repost helps. I'll fix my master file. As you see, this was shot in your home turf. A great place to photograph; I wish I could get there more often.

I'd love to be the author of this image; with the seaweed, perfect pose of the plover, and the strip of sky, it's a lively photo. I find it a bit bright.

Thank you Craig. I had toned down the brightness of the bird in PP, but didn't touch the BG. Perhaps I should try a version with a slightly darker BG as Gail has suggested.

I'm a bit slow getting back to this one, but here's a repost with Mike's suggested magenta to reduce the green cast, and Gail's and Craig's suggestions to reduce the brightness of the BG. As always, I appreciate all the thoughtful comments from all of you BPNers that help me to improve my craft.
