    Hi

Heres a female VSW from Cielito Sur last year.
This is in the province of Chiriqui in Western Panama close to the Costa Rican border.
The bird is common at this location.

    taken with my old 40D 100-400 1/250 f5.6 ISO 800
Processed with DPP, curve pulled on bird, BG denoised etc

Nice pose and soft BG. I wish there were a little more light on the hummer.

Looks like a beautiful species. Good comp, BG, perch. I'm thinking some fill flash would have done wonders to the plumage, perhaps even bringing out some irridesence.

Hi Richard, I like the mix of colours on this species, and maybe you could try teasing a bit more exposure in pp.

I like the background and you've got a great pose....
Since you can't flash the bird (maybe you can go back), if I were you I'd spend more time with the RAW and adjust the levels on the bird. (Ignore the white lines around the image due to hard mask edge -- you'll do better with your raw, etc)

    Richard
I do like to see this species and is nice to see it sitting for a moment (they are quite active!), I do like the nice clean BG and perch size. I wish for a lower shooting angle and a brighter bird though.

    Hi/Hola/Bom Dia

Had a play with the VSW and came up with a much different version, much more colour, light on bird etc. From AR not DPP, added fill light, then adj in PS5; anyone like this version.
btw though the colors are strong this species is very vivid.
