I like how the ripples pick up the gold in whatever's above the water. The water droplet is also nice. Sharpness and exposure are solid. I just wish you had gone with a lower shooting angle.

I'm a huge fan of low angles, but I gotta say this one works for me for the view of the ripples and the blue / gold play of colours in the water. Good job with the exposure, sharpness, comp. What the subject does need though is a catchlight to put some life in the eye.

Hi Katharina, I like the placement of the Stilt, well exposed, and sharp. I do like the ripples caused from the Stilt pulling his bill out the water, and the droplet adds interest. I also like the blue and gold colours complimenting each other.

Doug, Daniel and Stuart thank you for your comments. The golden color was picked up by the ripples from rocks on the other side of the dam. When taking the image at first I was disappointed that I could not get close to the water surface to get a low angle. But noticing the play of color in the ripples I climbed a little higher to emphasize them more. I do agree with the catchlight.
