    Ian, nice timing on the capture. Overall, the image still looks a bit noisy and seems to be a bit flat (needs some contrast).

    nice wing position and BG. I agree it looks noisy and soft. did you have to boost exposure in post?

    Nice pose and flight angle. I agree with Miguel that it is lacking a bit of pop. Something is hurting the IQ. Is this a large crop? Would consider adding a sliver of canvas above to move the bird down in the frame a bit.

    Thank you for all of the comments. No, this is minimally cropped for composition. I did boost exposure a very small amount, so maybe that was the killer.

    I like the placement of the bird in the frame and nice wing feather detail. Agree on more contrast.

    I like the perfect wing position and the nice habitat. The noise seems excessive for that ISO and a small amount of adding exposure in post.

    I like the light and wing position. Noise can still be seen in dark areas, I also believe that this one needs a tad more contrast.
