    This guy is a juvenile.
I took the shot more or less a week ago.
    He/she was having a break.
I took many shots but later he/she showed the back only.
The beak is too muddy for a cleanup. (I tried)
    Thanks for looking.

Nice looking bird and you have captured good details here. Might try and clean up the dark patches at the bottom of the frame. The whites on the neck are hot and going back and bringing them down a little in the raw may get a bit more detail in this area.

Hi Karl, tack sharp, which in turn has brought out the feather detail very well. Yes to a good HA, and Im fine with the muddy beak, as it adds that something extra. I would however neaten around the tip ( darkish patch there )

Great shot Karl. Great pose and head angle. I really like the muddy beak, nice background, and the whites in the neck are lacking detail. Other than that.....
    Well done.

Karl - the muddy beak is nice in this image. I think clean-up is a good idea if it's just a small amount. But here it's part of the scene!

I would have liked to see a lower shooting angle, so as to get more green. Otherwise great capture!

Nothing to add from a tech standpoint, and I'm sure this was just a small oversight, but this is a Semipalmated Plover.

I'm with Miguel here. When the bill is very dirty I'm OK with it and leave it as is, but when it is minimally dirty or with just a few specks then I go ahead and do it.

The image is quite sharp with lots of good details. I like the green water in the BG, and you got a perfect HA. What did not help you here is what appears to be harsh light...

Great pose, and nice bg. I wouldn't try to clean up the muddy bill - it's part of the story. Light does look a bit harsh making for a contrasty image; might be helped by toning down the brightest whites.

Thank you, Joseph and thanks for the correction.
Of course I know well it is a Semipalmated Plover.
How should I say; it is something what is on your mind and something else coming out of your mouth or from your keyboard.
I was leading bird watching outings here in Guelph and area 7-12 years back as I was pretty good with ID birds.
Anyway it's happening more and more I guess I'm loosing it.
My wfe called the potato as tomato about ten times today.
I guess she is loosing it too.
