Wonderful shot. I really like the pose, great light, and love the pov. Looks like it could use some ccw rotation.
    Well done.

This is really lovely, Tom. Love that pose, the sweet colors together, the light. The only thing I might have wished for more is a bit more depth of field so tail would be more in focus. I like your comp.

Ditto everything above. Melissa hit the nail on the need for more d-o-f. General principle: for the over-the-shoulder portraits, it is best to stop down considerably. Here, you might have gone as slow as 1/200 at f/16. If worried about bringing in too much detail in the water you could create a few at f/5.6 as here and then paint in the softer BKGR. Loverly bird and light.

Lovely pose and light on this one. Well exposed. Agree on some CCW rotation.

    I forget to think sometimes!

You only get about half an hour of nice soft light at the end of the day so always in a hurry.

Very good comments and advise above. Lesson learned by me too when at times get very exited with the bird of animal I have in front of me :)
But going back to the image: very nice light and bird, killer water and yes, more DOF for this one please! love it anyhow.
