    Default Old Cannery Mini World

While I was out in Oregon giving a seminar I couldn't help but stop at this old cannery located on the coast. I captured many HDR images but decided to try a mini-world since I haven't done one in awhile. I added some textures and a frame with On Ones Software's Perfect Effects.

I know this place! Awesome effect, Denise. Excellent choice of subject. Hope you had good time in Portland.

I love it. The colors. The shapes. The colors. The character of the cannery -- even in the distorted view. And did I mention the colors?

I'm not going to journey all the way to Oregon just to see it, but we do get to Portland occasionally. Where is it? Can one gain access? (When I did a search, I came up with an interesting hotel in Astoria, but I'm thinking that's not the place.)

Dennis and Indranil, Thank you and yes Dennis I believe it was in Astoria and you can view and photograph it from the land. There is a fenced off walkway out to the old cannery that is gated and we did not try to gain access. There were a lot of old piers there as well. We did eat in a restaurant that housed many of the old boats that were used in that area at the time when the cannery would have been thriving.

Denise, I love it for the reasons mentioned by Indranil and Dennis but what I love most is the lighting - it's gorgeous the way it hits the tops of the posts and the building.

Hi Denise, this one turned out fabulous. The old pilings look really cool in this mini-world.

Like the way the cannery itself is the main focus and the posts look almost like candles pointing their lights to it.

Nice one Denise, I know this place also and your mini-world does more than justice to it. I like the way the world is turned in on itself. Very cool!

Excellent! I am playing with the mini-world theme and it is much harder than it looks to achieve a smooth composition. The circle of pilings create a really nice frame for the cannery, that is in very lovely light. Well seen and put together.

This is fabulous and ranks at the very top of mini-worlds. Love the colors and, well, everything about it!!
