    Captured in late afternoon light. These birds are a challenge! I love to sit and watch them flit about and sometimes they fly close enough for a shot...

    Kerry;

    I think terns are so elegant, always nice subjects.

    I like the wing pose, angle in frame, good exposure.

    For personal taste, I might crop up a little bit from the bottom. Just felt better to me, even though the bird is looking down just a bit.

    Cheers

    A very nice dynamic pose and a bit different. I just wish it was a bigger in frame. It may also do well as a 16:9 crop with some off bottom and right.

    EXP and wing position good. IQ about the bill and face looks suspect.... At the very least, some bill clean-up would work for me. How large a crop?

    Artie, it's about a 50% crop.

    Thanks Kerry. Perhaps some bill and cap clean-up on the original would improve things (if that works with your personal ethics).

    Thank you Artie. I have some better captures that I will post, I think the wing position seduced me on this one.
