    Default Sacred kingfisher

Image was captured from a baghide after 'accidentally' finding the nest by listening to the birds' calls. Cropped to vertical from the original frame. Sadly, the morning was rather overcast, which didn't help.

30D, 300/4L IS, tripod, baghide, Penrith along the upper banks of the Nepean River.

Nothing sad about that; it is a lovely image. Wonderful look-back head-turn. EXP and COMP right on. If you have CS-3 hit it with the Linear Curve preset to give it a bit more pop. If it fits with your personal ethics you could tone down or get rid of the diagonal light area in the U-L-C and the light green circle behind the bird as well (though that would require some work using QMs).

Thank you guys for the positive suggestions. I will try the pop and other improvements you had suggested Artie. Compared to most of you here at BPN I am a photoshop virgin in a white dress! :(

I really love this image Akos ( as I may have mentioned before) ;)

A great pose, good detail and beautifully composed!!! A tad more contrast would put it over the top!! Well seen and taken.

I, a mere mortal, would not change it. It is beautiful.
