This is a photo from the last weekend.
The buntling is photographed early in the overcast morning - 80 AM.
I've used a tripod and remote switch.

    spec: Canon 40D, Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 + Canon 1.4x II Extender, f8 at 1/200, ISO 400

PP: 5% contrast and brightness, USM 210/0.2/2, sat 8%, and a slight S/H fix.

A 1024 px version of the photo is available here >

Pretty bird caught in a nice singing pose! Sharpness is pretty good, although there is some detail loss around the head. The BG is great, as is the part of the perch that the bird is resting on. If you're into cloning, I might consider cloning out much of the rest of the perch to give the photo a cleaner look.

Wow, love this composition with a lot of room at the left of the bird and the nice perch and, of course, the pose of this singing male. well done! By the way, did you considering the possibility of a vertical cropping? I think that it could works.

Beautiful bird Nikolay. I agree with the suggestion as to the perch. I would leave the buds behind him as they are a good color match with the plumage which I think is cool. Nice capture of a very colorful bird.

    Nice image Nikolay.
I would prefer a vertical crop. I am also thinking whether the covering bud from the tail area should stay or go?

Good eye contact and singing pose!

Wow, I love this as is. As far as I am concerned, any crop at all (except for a tiny fraction off the bottom would ruin it. Why? You MUST include the bases of the three or four non-perch branches. Right now you have a perfect rule of thirds COMP; why ruin it? Love the light and the way the colors of the buds complement the color of the bird. There looks as if there is a bit of motion blur to the head and bill.
