Default Moving Just A Few Feet...

Check out the different look one can get by just moving a few feet. Same subject, perch, pose as my previous post, my position is just about two feet back and one foot higher. The all-beach BG gives this a very different feel. When encountering a cooperative subject it is always best to work it for all possibilities!

Canon 7D + 100-400L @350mm, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1000s., f/7.1, ISO 400 (settings histogram checked), natural light, handheld, basic levels and saturation, maino bill clean-up via patch tool.

great comparison and good example of how to do it, such a short movement has indeed made all the differerence. I prefer this bg to the previous post, it compliments the bird and gives it a warmer feel. i will definatley move around more when dealing with a bird who co operates next time. thanks for posting this.

Another beauty, Daniel, and a good lesson. It's so much fun when they slow down and cooperate.

Wow, that's a very nice difference on your approach! love the BG and natural light. The adition of green in FG makes it very special for me.

Hi Dan, you are posting great work, and this one is no different. Excellent IQ, light, colours and detail, and I like how he is posed nicely in the open. The OOF foliage in the FG adds interest.

This is so beautiful, it almost looks like a painting to me, Daniel. Just perfect in its sweet soft light, perfect pose, dabs of green in the front, awesome background whose color complements the bird beautifully. Awesome work.

Excellent on all counts. I like this version the best. The BG color tone matches the plumage nicely, and the slice of green is a great touch. Perfect pose and comp too.

    Well done as usual!
