I love the light and the vertical comp. Maybe just a little more room on the right side.

I agree, cropping is a bit tight. Really like the colors and the light. I think the ears forward really helps as well. Good job.

Thanks for your comments and appreciations.

Unfortunally, I was too close from the rhino, it was not possible to have more space on the right.

    Jean-Philippe, thanks for posting.

Great light and composition. I too wish for more room on the sides. I like that you used a small enough aperture (greater DOF) to show him all in focus. Know the techs for the image would be helpful. I would like to know what lens and exposure you used as it is relevant to my DOF comment.

Awesome detail here Jean-Philippe, these guys are huge no? Take a look in the Friends and Family forum for the image I posted of "Louise and a friend". if you want a laugh.

Agree you could use some more room. You can add canvas to both sides, a bit cumbersome to do so but not too hard once you learn the technique.

    All the best!

I've been to Pilansenberg and it is just great for white rhino. Love the light on this one. It's very difficult to get catchlights in the eyes of a rhino but I wish you had them.. Cropped a bit tight as others have mentioned.

The light and detail is amazing in this photograph, but I have to add that it is a bit tight for my taste.

I hope you enjoyed your stay in South Africa – it is always a pleasure to see images from South African Game Reserves. Would have preferred a bit less space at the bottom, but well done, great light conditions.
