    Hi here's another of this species also taken on the Algarve.


    Cropped in a pseudo pano as I really like to bootle brush on whicj it feeds. Tightish at the top as behind/above the bird is a nasty, all beit blurred balcony.

    Canon 7d 100-400 @ 400 iso 800 f5.6 1/320 from tripod in difficult light. +1 exposure compensation.

    It does show off the exotic coloration of this diminutive member of the magpies, along with the brilliant coloand form of the bottle brush.

    Hi Richard,
    I like the bright colors but unfortunately this shot has a few issues.
    The chroma noise is quite noticeable on the bird. The angle is also quite steep.

    I like high-key images, and this one is appealing...but I do see lots of colour noise on the bird which could be tamed in post. I like the branch directly underneath the tail.

    OK all

    reduced cn using Photoshop 100% cn reduction on tiff; obviously didnt hit it DPP with enough.

    glad you like the bird/pano etc. These will be a resident bird on my 20 acre ranch (rented lol).
