    I really liked the colour patterns on this bird. I'm not sure whether it's a young bird getting its adult feathers or just going through a moult. Comments always welcomed.

    7D, 100-400mm, f6.3, ISO500, 1/640, +1 1/3 ev. Processed in DPP and PSE10.

    That is one strange looking bird.... The rusty feathers and those huge tertials are beautiful--the head, not so much. Maybe a bit of selective sharpening on the head.

    Yes, strange mallard indeed...likely a hybrid of sorts (domestic?). I could go for more sharpening on the head too. Good catch on the rotation.
