Hi Bill I think you needed some flash fill for this lovely bird Main light is from the back and harsh Not much detail on the top head feathers and dark center feathers are blocked !!!

I do like the pose and sharpness Remember to include the exp comp !!! Crop works well for me also !!!

The crop is nice of this lady. It's amazing how much flash can make a difference in settings such as this....you might want to give it a try. I think that you're on the right track.
