There were lot of Skimmers at Nickerson beach, but this guy was squatted in an unusual position and was looking far into the Ocean.
I played with the contrast a little to get this effect.Cloned out more than a few OOF birds. Sharpened,NR and cropped about 25% of the Original.

He looks as if he might be hurt? Look at the red right behind his bill...can you see this better in a larger version? Agree that there needs to be more light on the head.
Hi Sanjeev, good detail on the skimmer, and the colours pop nicely from the beach BG. Normally, I would have felt to take some space off the top, but in this, I like the extra space on top. Maybe some dodging around the eye may bring it up a little better.
Almost looks like a winter scene! Good low angle and exposure. I too wish for a better HA here. A few residual spots along the left and top edges need removal.
