    Default Ruby-Throated Hummingbird nest

This Ruby-Throated Hummingbird nest was photographed just outside of Columbus Ohio. Such a great experience I shared with Daniel Behm and Matthew Studebaker and a great way to break in my new camera! This nest was so accessible to the general public it was unbelievable. Located roughly 30 feet off of a foot bridge at eye level in a Sycamore Tree branch. We stood there for almost four hours hammering away at this nest. The background is the wet grass that was along side Big Walnut Creek that was running beneath the foot bridge we were on. I did clone back a leaf that was a bit too close for my taste to the babies beak. This is one of a few I would like to share. Sorry about the blatant copyright. It is the same image I post other places where I trust people less then here. Thanks for looking and C&C is always welcome.

Such an opportunity! Love seeing the great detail of the nest.
The dual eye contact from the youngsters is great too. Wish their
bills had more seperation. A slight crop from the bottom is seeming
reasonable to me too. I do like the leaves coming into the frame
in the URC as is...very nice sir.

A tender sibling moment here. Great view of the nest, you guys must have been thrilled! I could see the nest lower in the frame, or more canvas above. The leaves in URC add some interest.

Lovely shot but difficult to enjoy the image as my eye is drawn to the watermark.

Lovely details and colors. Like the pose on the little ones. Love all the little accents on the nest/branch. The nest appears a bit too centered for me. I am curious about how close the leaves were to the nest/chicks. The nest I photographed this year was also in a very public place but unfortunately it wasn't as low as this one and yours has a cleaner BG.

A very tender moment for sure!
Lovely details, color and killer clean BG. I do wish for a 3:2 ratio image and as mentioned by Daniel, Less room on bottom.

Great opportunity Josh and sweet little ones. I agree with Marina about the centering and like that you have a nice even angle with the nest
