From this past spring in Morro Bay. There were some great opportunities to get this species in flight as they fly parallel to the shoreline. I added some canvas below as it was a little tight on the bottom.

    Aidan:

Very nice wing position with good display of both dorsal and ventral surface. Nice angle in frame as well, stretched out feet, nice catchlight. Good job on the canvas extension, not obvious.

    Well exposed.

    Cheers

Nice image Aidan! I really like the patterns in the body feathers and the wings. Lovely contrast against the blue sea.

    Thanks for sharing,

    Hi Aidan,
    This is a lovely shot.
I like the wing position and the great look at both sides of the wings.
Nice light and sharp. Trailing tight feet are nice.
you did a good job on the canvas extension as well,
    Gail

It's always nice to see a Willet in Flight. Very nice shot, Aldan. Love the angle, wing position, sharpness, details and eye contact. Background is nice too.

Great light, wing position and BG. I posted a similar shot last week, but I like the coloring of yours better. Nice shot.

Nice light, details, exposure, colours. I know you already added canvas (and a job well done), but I would have preferred the subject even higher in the frame.

    Thanks everyone!

Daniel, I didn't mind the current position, but now that you mention it, it is really bugging me. I'll probably end up adding a bit more canvas on the bottom.

Lovely flight pose and killer light, exp, sharpness. Great job on adding canvas. While I do like this comp, I like Daniel's idea as well.

Nicely done Aidan. I agree with moving the bird up in the frame, but the capture is very nice. Lovely presentation of the willet wing pattern.

Awesome image. Love the plumage! Flight pose is great. Light quality rocks.
I'm A-Ok with this comp, but also can see a version with the bird higher up working well too.

Very nicely done! nice wing position, the bird is focused on your lens and the BG is very complementary.
