    ...since it's a rhino fest...

Location will remain undisclosed for obvious reasons.

I love seeing black rhino as they are so rare and look much more "fierce" than their square-lipped brethren.

    Techs:
    Canon 7D with 100-400mm L IS USM @285mm
    f8.0 @ 1/640 SS @ ISO-400
    about 90% of full frame

    Hi Morkel,
i think this image is not as good working as your others.
The major issue for me is the comp, it is too tight and too centered for my taste.I do not know the situation, so maybe there was no other option.I would have liked to see a bit more room to LHS and top.
To smaller things are the sharpness and the tonal contrast on the rhino itself, where i have gone too far with the bear , i think you can go a bit further here. And if you make use , of your NIK tonal contrast on the rhino, you can squeeze out more tonal variation.Just my thoughts.

The good things are the scene (feeding rhino) and the beautiful light you captured here. The surrounding looks processed very nicely, likewise the colors.
And always good to see a blackie with full horns.!!!

    Thanks Andreas...
I will be the first to admit that I didn't spend a lot of time in processing this one initially.
Reason for the tight comp? Many bushes around on either side, and I wanted the face on the ROT line. Top is top. Mistake made 2 years ago when shooting this scene. I could have zoomed out some...
Here's a repost with more detail extracted from the rhino.

    Thanks.
There was a calf at this scene but he was out-of-frame here. I think it's a small termite mound with some light/shadow playing tricks there...

    Plus one here.

Everything has been said already and addressed. You could add a fraction more above, with little effort to help the horn, and/or lose a little off the RHS, personal choice.
