From one of the most spectacular evenings ever at Nickerson. I like the energy in the ocean in this image.

The juvie/fledgling against the turbulent ocean really make this a good story. Like the spotlight effect here.

This image has "excellent timing" written all over it.
Light quality is on the superb side. Love the roiling water.

    Grace:

This tells the story very well, how turbulent of a world they live in along the shoreline. Good pose, really nice light, well composed.

    Cheers

Nice capture,Grace. It seems like it was very windy at the beach and you did a great job in getting the bird tack sharp under such conditions. The Ocean frothing with foam and the Juvi flying over it definitely has a story to tell.TFS

Grace, very nice capture and timing. The details and colors on the skimmer are great! I think there are a couple of spots on the background that could benefit from some cleanup (mainly the dark spot behind the tail).

Very dramatic with spectacular combination of wave action and beautiful light. Although minor, the bright speck directly below the bill tip immediately caught my attention and could be evicted. Very well done!

Thanks, Miguel. That's just the ocean churning. We each have to decide how much altering we care to do, and stuff like this I leave alone as it's nature. Annoying stuff like specular highlights and dust spots I of course will remove.

Grace, A fantastic shot with a great pose. I like the wave and the placement of the skimmer in the frame.

The to-die-for light and hovering, seemingly still bird against that dramatic, churning ocean make this a special image, Grace. Perfect comp.

I absolutely love this one Grace! The warm light , perfect pose, and waves put this head and shoulders above a typical skimmer in flight shot.

    Well done.

    Hi Grace,
    I really like this.
The light and the foamy water are what makes this image for me. I also like how he has cocked his head towards you a bit,
    Gail
