    Default Immature Shy Albatross Banking

    Attached Images Attached Images

1D MK4, 70-300 @ 269mm, 1/2500 @ 5.6, ISO 400, Manual mode. On a boat that was putting food out to get the seabird to come in.

Another shot from seabird trip - hoping to go out next month as well.

I'm sure this is an Immature Shy Albatross.

    Thanks Tom

Looks pretty close to Waved Albatross of the Galapagos. They almost never give the full dorsal view either.... Very sharp on the eye and looks very grey and a bit flat.... Was this from a horizontal or a vertical ORIG?

Horizontal. I thought it was a Salvin's Albatross at first but when reviewing the species list for the trip, done by a guy who knows his birds, no Salvin's was mentioned as been seen. It must be a immature Shy. The grey collar around the neck and grey beak with the tip darker make me think this.

Thanks Tom. I know nothing about the birds down there . But his one is reminiscent of Waved.

I like this alot, and cropping as a vertical makes sense. Good details, and the ewhites on the rump look perfect. I wouldn't mind seeing the subject a bit lower in the frame, but still OK as is.
