I took this today really to just keep my hand in with the photography and practise with different light conditions. It was as usual a very dark and gloomy day today so not the best weather. I do quite like the water droplets on the head. Comments always welcomed.

Looks like you exposed really well under those conditions. The detail in the breast feathers is nice. Like you mentioned, the water droplets add a nice touch. The only part that is bothering me is the dark reflection on the left side of the image. I would clone it out. Otherwise, it's great!

Looks like the overcast gave you nice uniform light. I like the silvery look of the water.
Duck is nice and sharp and agree the water drops are a nice touch.

Nice work in getting the bird lit with the water so bright. Water drops add alot for me as well.

Simon I think you have a fine image there - lovely detail and exposure I like the eye contact too. I know what you mean about a little practice, I just submitted the first bird image I had taken in weeks!!

Excellent image.Agree with Cheryl Molennor about exposing the bird nicely with the water so bright.
Love the water droplets on head.

Thanks all for the positive feedback. Now you've mentioned it,I agree with the dark water patch to the left of the bird. I'll certainly clone that out. It's often dull weather here in the UK, but on this occasion the subdued light probably helped with this bird.

    Thanks again.
