These guys are very loud, both when flying, and perched. I realise he is flying away from me, but couldnt resist sharing the colours on their wings. This guy surprised us, thus not getting the perfect approach shot. Taken at the University of Pretoria last weekend. The BG is water.

their call is noisy and incessant
    their plumage quite beautiful
one of the best in-flight I've seen of these (despite the angle)

I thought Tuks was giving togs a lot of crap to go in there and photograph birds these days?

Thanks Mork. Saturdays are fine. Sundays are a bit of a problem unless they ask you for a permit, and you cant show one. Will PM you a little later.

Thanks Arash for your feedback too.

Great look at the wings here. That MKIV seems to be treating you nicely...

    Stuart:

Quite nice indeed. The coloration reminds me of a lighter version of our glossy ibis. They can be quite challenging to capture in such a way to show off their subtle iridescense, often just go black.

Sharp, well exposed. Agree about a sliver more room above.

    Cheers

Very Nice. One of your nicer BIFs IMO. Exposed well and as good of a wing display as it gets. The sheen on the coverts is nice. Perfect!

Hi Stuart, great short of this bird, I also like the wing position showing off their colors.
