    Default Space Needle!

Work and travel has been keeping me busy... finally managed to get my camera out and take some images! Here is an abstract of Space Needle in Seattle with its reflection on EMP museum wall. For processing, I used Topaz Simplify to smooth out the color of the wall and also used a mask to recover the original Space Needle. Hope you like it...

Love that reflection, The simplify worked well for that area. I'm seeing just a hint of blotchiness in the sky just above the needle, not bad though. Could be compression? Great shot.

Great eye, Indranil. The color is great, I like the composition, and the negative space (no pun intended) works perfectly for the image. I particularly like the light behind the top of the needle.

Was the sun behind the needle??? Good that you got out. Though I usually hate squares the top of this one does not do a lot for me; a square crop might tighten it up nicely.

Hi Dave, Thank you! I appreciate it. I did notice those blotches and it is from the compression. I will fix those and repost it again.

Hi Dennis, thank you! I appreciate it! Yes, the sky was on purpose. Being a trekkie, I wanted to capture the essence of the empty space

Hi Artie, thank you so much; I appreciate it! Yes, it is the sun behind the needle. I can now see how the square works better compositionally. Here is a repost...

The square works, too, but the leading curve from the building -- and its contribution to the negative space -- is lost. My vote is for your original post.

Indranil, when I saw the OP I really liked the vertical crop (as well as the whole image) but then I saw the square crop and liked it equally well. So, I like BOTH of them

I like both versions. When I first looked at it I thought how striking it would look without the space needle and its reflection, just curves and blues.
