Twilight Zone
The base image was a result of a wood stork flying in to the pond unexpectedly and I didn't have time to use exposure comp so it was pretty dark against the light overcast sky and not a stretch to make it black. Then I found this texture in my collection and loved the result.

I think just a tad less than pure black -- maybe closer in tone to the darkest parts of the sky texture -- would look even better, but this was a very creative rescue. Nice work.

Thanks Dennis. Thanks for the suggestion. I looked to see if I had the layered file and I guess I didn't save it so it will have to remain black.

Judy, this is great! I love the texture you added and the silhouette. I might crop from the bottom just a little and then add a similar amount on the top? Just to see what it would look like

I have a suggestion to get you where Cheryl is wanting you to go. Just place the bird more towards the bottom of the frame.... As presented the image is top heavy.

Judy, I like the color combo. Great suggestion by all above. I might try to bring the bird down and to the right just a touch. Great job!

The silhouette and sky go together beautifully! I would brighten up the entire image just a tad, and move the bird down in the frame, or crop from bottom. A most creative use of two images. Well don.
