    Hi Fab,

Lovely wings. The image looks a little washed out in my monitor, the blacks are not as dark. I also find the green in the lower left corner a little distracting.

You did an excellent job capturing this bird just in time. Congrats!

    Hi Fabs!

Fantastic pose with full spread wings! Congratulations! Are his tail feathers ragged like that? Looks like you guys found a gold mind over there!

What a fantastic pose with his wings fully spread. Love the ragged feathers, I think after raising young, we all are a bit rumpled, part of the story. Agree that for some reason it looks a bit off in the colors.

    Hi Fabs,
I like the wing spread and the matching clawed feet of this. I also like the way the trunk "wraps around" the subject. I agree with others that the colors look a bit off and it has a slightly flat appearance.

Great action, excellent reflexes, angle of approach of bird is spot on, so is wing position. Would like a tiny bit more saturation?

You've outdone yourself with this one. I love that wing spread and the and wide eyed look of this one. I especially like the tree....sure makes a difference in telling a story. Well done....as always.

Simply superb fabs - caught at the very peak of full flight. What shutter speed were you using here?

Great shot Fabs, I'm still trying to get a great stationary shot on one of these.

Being in the right place at the right time

When did you capture this, Fabs? I gather you can't get near the nest now? I think I'd like to call the ranger station down in Flamingo and harass them a little.

John, I checked and it was 1600. Good enough to freeze. I was using the ISO as a mean to control the s/s.

    Thanks!

Like the pose, excellent focus and detail - looks a tad washed out on my monitor too - corrected it by moving the left slider in levels to 20 (from 0). Also darkened the lower part of the tree a little, would remove the green there too (didn't want to mess with your signature though).

Susan, I understand they harassed some photographers the other day, even took pictures of the "stepped on" vegetation to document our mass destruction of the park. Where they have been the previous 3 month, only G knows... :)

Thanks! It was a great experience to see them for 3 days. Guess you can't get there now, plus they would have all fledged.
Probably the Red Bellies got the vacancy though....

That wing spread is awesome, Fabs. Tough to get these guys at all never mind in a beautiful flight pose. Very nice.

I love this very unusual perspective on this bird. One rarely seen in a photograph. Very well done!
