Hi Sanjeev, nice to see affection up in a tree rather than on the ground with the pride, makes for a different shot and I like the idea of the tree bow being used at an angle. Obviously this must be part of the series you have shot and posted before, however you still have the issue of the subjects being backlit.

I would have cranked up the ISO on the 7D, it can take it and raised the DOF to at least f/5.6, perhaps even 7.1 for added detail, at f/4 I don't think it's enough for this image. There is some Chromatic calibration coming through on the outline of the trees which you can hopefully resolve in ACR, (the blue fringe lines). I might be tempted to soften the white BKG with just a hint of colour to try and take away the starkness. I might also suggest just opening the subject up a little and then selectively applying some more USM which the image can take. Have you added any black in the image when you processed it? Also took the liberty of cropping a little off the top.

    Hope this helps.

Steve, thanks for the advice. Your toning down of the bright BG and the crop with addition of USM has improved the image a lot. I will try to use a smaller aperture in such a scenario in the future to get more DOF and wont hesitate to up the ISO a bit as well. You are right, this was from the tree lions series but my initial posts were with the 100-400 L and this was with the 70-200f/4 IS.
    Thanks again.

You are most welcome, however drop Morkel a PM or a note in a thread, he seems to know the magic touch with the 7D.

HI Sanjeev - cute image with good interaction. Steve has covered it well. My default ISO with my 7D is 400. I drop it lower to 200 or 100 if shooting in brighter conditions or with a tripod where ss doesn't matter as much. I also push it up to 800 and still get good results.
