    Default Darter Dancing...

    Hello all

Took this image of a darter standing on a fence overlooking an outside pool at a local Aquarium. I think He/she was waiting for the staff to leave because as it got quieter the bird got closer and closer to the pool... I have seen Ospreys overlooking the same pool, no doubt also looking for dinner. Caught this image as it was walking along the fence as it crept towards the pool and I thought the evening light light up the underwing nicely... What do you think?

About 75% of the image included and not much done except a bit of sharpening...

I think it's an excellent "hand of man" image. The action is sweet. The technicals are excellent except....
I wish you been able to move to your left a bit to possibly get a more uniform background, which surely
would have improved this already very nice frame.

I absolutely agree with Shawn about moving to the left. Unfortunately, as we all know, the action might have happened too quickly for that decision to be made and you still get the shot. Looks great out of camera!

I like the bird and the pose is superb. IQ looks good as well. Nice light.

perch is what it is. If the BG was natural, it would have been much better. But nothing you could do. You nailed the pose.

Thanks for the comments guys...Unfortunately a left move would have me step off the edge of a jetty and into the water. I did think of blending the shadow in the BG to be less obtrusive, but I wanted to gauge others opinion first..

Despite the heavy hand of man element I really do dig the image. Not fond of the dark vertical streak in the BG though, and I would have preferred more room in front. A small additional thing to point out would be to fill in the bit og black creeping in along the top right edge of the frame. Very sharp, nice light, well exposed...and I love the balancing act.
