The light is lovely and the whites are well exposed.
I like the zigzaggy reflection of the bill in the water.
Water drop adds a lot as well. The blue in the wake adds a nice bit of color.
I might take a smige off the bottom

I really like the light, the angle of the bird towards you, and your comp, Cheryl. That water droplet adds interest. Lovely image.

I'm going to agree with Gail on this one, taking a bit off the bottom and adding some to the top would be a great modification to an already nice shot.

Glad you finally had some cooperative subjects. The light is killer and I like the water trail and the color of the water and the water droplet. Lovely details in yours whites. Your comp works for me although I might take a gander to see how it looks with a little bit more on top.

Thanks Gail and everyone else. I also wanted more room on top but thought I'd feel out the crowd before adding canvas. Taking anymore off the bottom wasnt working for me as I wanted to keep the eye in the reflection so..... I will see what more top canvas does.

    Cheryl,
Nice light indeed, the exposure and whites look great showing excellent detail. The water drop adds that lil extra that really makes this for me. The water color seems unique to me and I too like the blue wake behind. I too think a smidge off the bottom and a tad more room at top may improve this, but excellent as presented.

Hi Cheryl, you cant complain about the light in this, and I like the water's reflection on the body. Great shooting angle, well exposed, and the single droplet puts this over the top.

    Killer light indeed!...yummy.
I would not change a thing if you like the reflection as is.
Beautiful frame. Water drop is a sweet little detail.

I like the comp suggestions offered. Not sure what the original comp looks like but as an alternative I'd love more room at bottom too as I find the reflection clipped at a bad spot (IMO). Good light, and I love the colour of the water. I do find the brighter highlight on the chest a bit much and could be tamed. I'd also remove the bit of blue at lower right edge. The rest looks great, awesome details, water dropping off the bill. Great looking blue eye. Glad you got some cooperative subjects!!

Daniel, you are on my line of thinking and i actually hadn't noticed that I caught some of that bule. That is my reason for cropping the reflection out but i really wanted more of it. Here is the original
