    Default White Ibis

White Ibis are so beautiful, the blue eyes and red throat and bill are just amazing.
I got this one in the drinking water supply lagoon on Contadora Island, Pearl Islands (Panama) last year.

Its a 50 crop but I am very pleased with it. The raised muddy foot adds.

I really burned up in this location 40 C plus and very harsh light.
I was using the 40D and my 100-400 @360mm. I was ever mindful of the American Croc reportedly seen right where I was kneeling.
The image has had curves adjusted, sat boost of 10, burned out light specs and removed some BG stones etc that were distracting.
Ev -.66 ISO 800 F7.1 1/1250 AF Servo with top rhs spot manually selected (crop was therefore from left.

Richard, nice capture! I like the right leg up and the angle. However, it looks like the light was pretty harsh here and the whites on the neck were blown out. The legs and face looks a bit oversaturated.

    Hi Miguel
    thanks

as I said above blazing light. Added sat so can easy lower.
Whites recoverable in ACR (used DPP) so will reprocess; plenty of detail to be seen.
Im afraid the files are behaving weirdly on posting, something in my WF is causing and I think Im on to what this is. In my PS whites at bright point read 226/226/226

heres a repost, with less sat and work on whites

Very nice picture, Richard. You are right about them being beutiful. I would see them in Florida winter time, probably not the best plumage but they are still beutiful.

Now that looks like muck! I don't think I'd even crawl in that, and I often like crawling in substrate.
The raised foot is a great additive in the image, as is the muddied bill.
The strong high angled light, and the fact that you are off the axis of light are key detractors.

Hahaha Chris; believe me I would crawl in the substrate for something to eat and the way prices for food are going in the UK I might have to lol
and Shawn , quite right the light was shocking.
