    Tripod Canon 7D Canon 180mm macro ISO 400 1/25 sec f11, I did some smoothing of the background on the right hand side in PS using a green brush

    Hey Jon,
    might tone down the BG below the hopper a touch......but all in all a fantastic shot!

    Hi Jon, Though it is razor sharp it has a bit of a painterly feel to it. Very nice indeed.

    Another belter! Love the detail in the 'hopper and grassy background shows the habitat. Great shot TFS.

    Terrific composition with that diagonal pose. Wonderful details and sharpness. If it were mine, I might consider toning down the head just a tad.

    Thanks very much everyone, I appreciate your observations and comments. My personal reservation over the image was the front left leg, I kept asking him to move it but he wouldn't.
