I had posted this shot earlier using different filters and a different background. I shot this in my house with a green background (art paper) because our local camera club just had the same theme. I used 2 texture overlays from Shadowhouse blended with Soft Light.
    Thanks for looking.

The soft colors and subtle textures of the bkgd make a very nice contrasting back drop for the bold red tulip.

    Nice image and application, Cheryl

I'm not sure of the leaf in the lower left. My thought goes from more to eliminate it. Not sure which, but it seems incomplete for some reason. But as we like to say "Y.I.Y.V."

I've set up a new photo page on Facebook with my images www.facebook.com/NaturesVisions. You may enjoy a few of them, if you care to wonder by.

I like the leaf in the LLC. Nice contrasting colors and the comp is super! I like the details that show through the texture layer.

    Cheryl,

Greetings. Good use of the contrasting colors to make the red really pop. I'd like to see the leaf & stem without the texture... as is, it's hard to maintain the 3D visual cues strongly present in the flower.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Interesting how each person commenting has a slightly different opinion of this image. The red against green provides a pleasing color contrast for the weekly theme. The textures add interest to the bg. I'd like to see the image cropped from the top and a slight bit from the right.
