I like the strong contrast between the red and the turquoise/green. When I went to the VanGogh exhibit some months ago, I noticed that he used turquoise as a background for some of his flower paintings.

Taken at Longwood Gardens. Processed in Elements 10, basic adjustments, plus: High Pass for flower, Color Efex Pro: Darken/Lighten Center, Topaz Adjust: Exposure Correction. Used textures: "Blue Door" by Anita (me), "Blutopia" by Shadowhouse Creations, "Turquoise Bokeh" by pareeerica < http://www.flickr.com/photos/pareeerica/4378609272/>, "Robin's Egg" by French Kiss <http://frenchkisstextures.com/>, and "I Do" by Sterling Silverr
<http://www.flickr.com/photos/sterlingshine/5784633042/in/set-72157622125946432/>. I think I just kept adding textures until I got the background I wanted.

You achieved a great bkgd effect with the blend of the different textures. Just wondering how it would look if you removed those 2 bits of blurred petals that extend above the center spikey part of the flower.
